Overview & Problem

Meridian Systems Lab is an interdisciplinary research group focused on understanding and communicating complex systems. Their work spans from computation, interaction, behavior, and data visualization. Meridian did not have a visual system to represent their research across multiple disciplines, making it difficult to communicate and present their work through a unified identity.

Design & Strategy

A generative system was created using the lab’s data, allowing the research itself to create the visuals. This allows Meridian’s research and data to directly inform the visual system, keeping the identity flexible, evolving, and directly tied to the lab’s work.
